How the answers are worked out
Each appliance has a typical wattage and typical hours of use per day, the same figures that drive its page on this site. Annual electricity is watts ÷ 1000 × hours × 365. The quiz picks pairs whose totals differ by at least 30 percent, so every round has a real answer, and it shuffles a new set each time.
